Mexican Mars

this is Eduardo Almanza's brilliant reproduction of a Flemish baroque masterpiece. The original was painted by Rubens (1620's) and is titled 'Portrait of a Man as the God Mars'. Strangely, it has been transposed by Eduardo - the original is facing to the left. Eduardo (Mexico) took 3rd prize in the Copy Art section with his Rubens (it would have been no surpise to me if he had won the class).

The finished portrait. (Besides its 3rd prize in Copy Art it won 2nd prize in the People's Choice)
